Tunnel/Jacobs: Children’s Literature Briefly
I like the idea that trade books develop their views in individual language allowing for a more personal experience. Textbooks may be dull with less illustrations and diagrams. On the other hand, trade books are more engaging with different sizes, formats, lengths, and superior illustrations. This is extremely important because it will catch and retain a child's attention easier and for longer periods of time. Another piece of information that I found to be helpful is that reading shouldn't be assigned. Instead, teachers should incorporate books throughout the classroom in such a way as to lure the children into the lesson without obviously bringing or giving all of the attention to a book.

I definately agree with you about trade books. I think this would bring something different into the classroom. And perhaps more interesting to the students instead of dull textbooks.
I totally agree with you. I wish that teachers would have pushed trade books more, rather than textbooks.
