Fleischman: Sidewalk Circus

Due to the fact that this book doesn't contain any words, it allows the reader to use his/her imagination to fill in the story line. The pictures provide enough to conclude that the story is about a little girl sitting at the bus stop and as she waits for the bus, she uses her imagination to create an incredible view or idea about the events going on around her. For example, instead of seeing actual construction men painting, she sees a circus with tightrope walkers and everything! I believe most children can enjoy this book because by not providing words, the children are encouraged to make up their own ideas and views about what is really going on. This book is really creative. With the evergrowing technology of today, children do not get as many opportunities to build on their imagination. Therefore, books like these should be better appreciated.
