Chapter 10

Tunnel/Jacobs: Children’s Literature Briefly

This chapter really allows the reader to see the difference between traditional and modern fantasy. Another good point made in this chapter is that fantasies make the metaphor an effectiv literary device. Because fantasies make an abstract image, they allow for a metaphor to be better visualized. This chapter is great because it deals with my favorite type of reading: fantasy. This allows for the reader to use imagination and creative thought. This is especially wonderful for children because it expands their world.
