Wong: Buzz

This book is really cute! I love the way in which the reader can visually experience what the little boy is seeing. The use of the word "buzz" throughout the story allows for younger readers to see the sound that different things (lawn mower/blender/etc.) are making. The repetition provides the child the opportunity to memorize passages from the book and to feel secure and independant enough to actually read along. Also, being able to actually read a sound is interesting enough in itself. This book could be very useful when teaching several lessons such as: lessons over other objects that make the same noise, or mothers who work, or other words that describe a certain sound, or about getting ready for the day.

Denisse: I enjoyed how you described how the book could be used to teach children the sound Buzz. The idea of repetition and implementing in the classroom through the book is a great example to for children to memorize passages.
