Wong: Minn and Jake (pp.1-78)

This book is yet another beautiful creation of Janet Wong that brings a smile to my face. Apart from the fact that it portrays different ideas (from our own common, everyday ones) about what little girls and boys do or like, it also provides a beautiful lesson about social/emotional development. The first few chapters of the book are incredibly well-written, the reading flows from page to page with such ease that the amount of pages being read go unnoticed. Also, I enjoy reading about the relationship these two children have developed because it reminds me of my own childhood. I remember how worried I always felt about other girls not liking me, but I never had trouble keeping my 'nerdier' friends (who were usually boys).
